Picture of the Day

Today is Fernando Torres' (middle) 25th birthday!!!

Random Fact: According to the book Soccer Super Stars, as a child, Fernando enjoyed (in addition to soccer) throwing things out the window! *

Fernando Torres when he was 12

Here is a video of Fernando Torres at age 12 when he played for the Atletico Madrid youth team. They are playing the AC Milan youth team. I feel bad for Milan's goalie because he keeps making mistakes.

David Villa's Hat Trick ball

After the Russia v. Spain game, which Spain won 4-1, David Villa went to the ref hoping to keep the ball which he scored his third goal of the game with. (BTW - He dedicated the goal to Fernando Torres). The ref, however, wasn't going to allow it. Luckily, fellow Spaniard Pepe Reina (Liverpool's goalie), spoke English well enough to persuade the referee. David Villa got to keep the ball, and any possible crisis was averted!
