Elk sausages

Earlier this week, we grilled the elk sausages that my co-worker Don gave me last spring. They had jalapenos and cheese in them, and there were alot of them, probably too many for my family to safely eat. Here's a short video of them cooking:

Elk burgers

For my daughter's birthday dinner, we ate the first of the elk meat. Here's what my nephews had to say about the elk burgers:

"Richer taste than beef; excellent texture." - Max

"It tasted like generic meat, but the good kind. Not the kind that you find at a gressy restaurant at 12 am." - Gus

"I thought it was great. It tasted sweet, but that might have been the BBQ sauce." - OJ

Elk meat!

My co-worker Don has given me a moderate amount of elk meat - sausages, ground meat, and some steaks. His son-in-law from Idaho shot the elk and now some of it's in my freezer, just waiting to be eaten.
