Leonardo Style

"What I know is what I read. I'm sorry for everything, but I must also say that I don't know anything anymore. I can say that Im sorry because it also becomes difficult to understand, therefore I cannot have an opinion on a specific thing. I can't understanding everything. I'm sorry, this year, but also in this case I only think about what I'm doing today and I don't want to lose the concentration."

Champions League Update: Semifinals are set

All four Champions League quarterfinal ties are over, and here are the results:
  • Barcelona defeated Arsenal
  • Inter Milan beat CSKA Moscow
  • Olympique Lyon beat Girondins Bordeaux
  • Bayern Munich defeated Manchester United
Below: Messi scores one of his four goals against Arsenal on Tuesday

In the Bayern-Man Utd. match on Wednesday, Bayern arrived at Old Trafford with a 2-1 lead and hopes that Wayne Rooney would be unable to play due to injury. Rooney did start, however, and United quickly built up a 3-0 lead. Bayern scored at the end of the first half (on a goal by Olic), and then, in the second half, Manchester United's Rafael was sent off with his second yellow card, and Rooney had to leave due to a re-aggravation of his ankle injury. Arjen Robben then scored a pretty astounding goal to pull Bayern level 4-4 over the two legs of the tie. Due to the away-goals rule, Bayern advance.

After the match, United coach Alex Ferguson denounced the Bayern players for being "typical Germans."

Abandoned Books and/or Movies #9

Punk Rock Dad - Jim Lindberg
Jim Lindberg is a member of the group Pennywise, and he and his wife have three young daughters. Lindberg wrote this book to tell what it is like to try to be a member of a punk rock band and also a parent. I got pretty far into this book (127 pages to be exact) and was actually enjoying it, but I got distracted and never was able to get restarted.

I did not actually try to read the following two books, but I did get them from the library and skim them. They are both in the same vein as Punk Rock Dad-- books about the punk way to do things.

Hardcore Zen: Punk Rock, Monster Movies, & the Truth About Reality - Brad Warner
Brad Warner was also in a punk rock band (Zero Defex) and then later moved to Japan to teach English and then go to work for the studio that produces the popular Ultraman television show (see photo at the bottom). Warner is also a zen monk.

Punk Shui: Home Design for Anarchists - Josh Amatore Hughes
If you are looking for a short guide to decorating your house according to the principles of punk shui, then this is the book for you.

Below: As promised, it's Ultraman

What I have been listening to lately #52

Dificil de Domar - Garotas Suecas

Using my rudimentary knowledge of Portuguese, Italian, and Spanish, I believe that the title means, "Trouble Sleeping." I could be wrong, however.

Match report: Cagliari 2 - Milan 3

Above: Davide Astori right after scoring an own goal to put Milan ahead 3-2
  • Goals scored: Borriello 7', Ragatzu 17', Huntelaar 19', Matri 32', Astori (own goal) 38'
  • What happened: Five goals were scored in the first half. The last time these two teams met, seven goals were scored.
  • What else happened: Both Inter and Roma won, so Milan are still in third place.
  • Questions about this game: Was Huntelaar's goal from an even longer distance than the one Pirlo scored against Real Madrid in the Champions League?
  • What this match teaches us: Neither team seems to be able to play defense.
